Jacob is a Certified Financial Planner™ at Puckett Financial Group. Before entering financial planning, he spent years as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church of America, guiding congregations through seasons of transition and helping people rediscover purpose during uncertain times. That same instinct — meeting people where they are and walking with them toward something better — is what drives his work with clients today.
Jacob also holds the Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®) designation through Kingdom Advisors, recognizing financial professionals who integrate biblical wisdom and ethical principles into every aspect of their practice. His counseling training through the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF), where he served as a Recitation Instructor, further sharpened his ability to listen well and guide people through complex, emotionally significant financial decisions.
As a SmartVestor Pro, Jacob is committed to helping families and individuals build wealth with confidence and clarity — whether you’re planning for retirement, navigating a career transition, or building a legacy for the next generation.
Jacob holds a Bachelor of Arts from Moody Bible Institute (Summa cum laude) and a Master of Arts from Westminster Theological Seminary (Summa cum laude), where he also completed all coursework toward a Master of Theology (Th.M.). He completed the graduate-level Certified Financial Planning program through Kaplan and Stockton University, and is currently pursuing an MBA in finance at Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business.
Jacob lives with his wife Gina, their two daughters, and a yellow lab named Otis. Outside of work, he’s an avid guitarist and lover of live music.
